Today (Saturday) was the inauguration of Danderyd's Culture Biennial 2013 at Danderyd gymnasium.
Inside there was a feverish activity as forty display tables were set-up by various local history and cultural organisations. Meanwhile, we were entertained by Danderyd's own brass band outside. Then it was time for the inauguration. Ulf Elfing, who lives in our community, was the MC. Danderyd's wind instruments played a cheerful rendition of Girl from Havana. Then it was culture biennial president Torun Widströms turn to inaugurate. Speeches followed and then the cutting of the blue and yellow ribbon accompanied by a very attentive children's choir from Opus Norden.
Speeches by Anders Bergstrand and Olle Reichenberg were next, followed by music from Maria-Christina Arvidsson, flute and Barbro Ottosson, piano. We finished with a song from the soon-to-be-released record, Dandelion! Full speed and friendly atmosphere in with the performances and amongst the various tables outside.
Now the week is ahead! Many activities and the opportunity to visit local artists!
