Just recently we met Cheyne Henriksson, a licensed chiropractor based in Stocksund. She grew up in Sweden but her father is from London and she has lived there, so a fluent English speaker (even more so than most Swedes we meet who are so very good at English!). She opened her first practice here in January, sharing a lovely space with Fortasana (nutrition, personal training and running experts), Purusa (yoga, coaching and massage) and Kia's nail studio.
For those of us unsure as to what a chiropractor does (or when you should visit one) and what a 'naprapat' actually is, Cheyne has created this awesome guide in English to answer these questions. Pop your email address in below and get the PDF directly.
The newest addition to Danderyd's art galleries - Galleri Baginski - has a large collection of new artwork for sale and they are launching the 'Let's Art' exhibition tomorrow (Saturday 21st May 2016). We snuck in and took a peek yesterday. See the gallery's website for better photos than we took!
The 180m2 gallery is tucked in at the back of the estate where Flugger Färg is. There is parking. The gallery is open from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and 11am to 3pm on Sunday. It is also open every weekday from 12 noon to 6pm. For more information and lots of photos of the artwork, see their website: www.baginski.se
After many, many years in the planning, work has finally started at one end of Mörby Centrum to transform it, eventually, into Danderyds Centrum. The work at Mörby plan - the end where the taxi rank and bus stops are - has started and from the 1st June, the taxis will be at Mörbyleden instead. The green arrow shows where they will be, the blue arrow will be the bike parking and the red area where they are about to start rebuilding (see the video below).
Space for 550 bikes is due to be completed in December 2016 and then work on the new bus station will start. Here is a video showing the plans:

Hamnens day: 28th May 2016
Between midday and 4pm, boats small, large and under the water are available to explore, fire engines ready to be climbed on and generally a lot to look at and do happens at Stocksund's Hamnens Dag. Marina läroverket (the college at the marina) and Stocksunds boatclub invite everyone to eat, drink and enjoy the spring. Worth going to, especially with children.
I'm an English gal with a Swedish husband and children living permanently in Danderyd. These are my thoughts on what is going on around here.
