Last week, journalist and photographer Nicholas Walker posted some amazing photos of Djursholm on the Facebook page. Having lived and work in Asia for several decades, the Stockholm-born Nicholas recently moved 'home' and now lives in Djursholm. He has very kindly given us some more of his photography to share on Life in Danderyd's home page - do check it out. Nicholas has written for publications across Asia (and further afield). The Japan Times and Boston Globe, among others, feature his work. These days, he tells me he is as passionate about photography as he is about writing. One of his favourite locations to shoot is the pathway between Henrik Palmes Allé and Natanael Beskows Väg in Djursholm. He combines photography with cycling around the area and studying local history - he is currently working on a pictorial history of Danderyd. Nicholas photographs subjects out in nature, weddings/family occasions, portraiture, pets, and everything else worth capturing. Contact him at [email protected] if you want something wonderful photographed. |
Over the last few years, more and more information about things going on and photographs of Danderyd have made their way to this blog and to Life in Danderyd's Facebook page. There is nothing better than discovering some new or remembering a place we haven't visited for a while. Shops and restaurants have come (and gone!), businesses have started up, demographics have changed (there are far fewer small children now than in, says, 2010) and people have moved in and out of the area.
