On Monday 17th December, criminologist Maria Dufva will be sharing her experience and knowledge about our children’s life online (in Swedish, click here tickets www.familyflow.se/butik). The talk is organised by Family Flow and we got in touch with Ulrika Fallenius that runs it, to see what else she and the company do.
Ulrika's answer? Parenting made easy!
Parenting Facilitor Ulrika Fallenius runs Family Flow from her home in Djursholm. Parents are invited for a healthy breakfast in her kitchen followed by a workshop by the open fire in the living room. They meet to discuss and learn how to handle the day-to-day challenges of being a parent.
"We don’t dictate how you should bring up your children," says Ulrika. "We help you to understand your child’s temperament, define your own family values and give you tools to stay calm, as well as to manage your child’s behaviours. These make life as a parent easier and more fulfilling and help you to build an even stronger connection with your child so that they thrive, boosting their self-worth too."
Courses and workshops are designed for parents with children aged 4-years up to and including teenagers. Topics covered are (among others):
For those who can’t make it to the courses, Ulrika offers an in-depth online parenting course as well as private consultations, face-to-face or on Skype. Ulrika trained in London so is very happy to help in English!
Daily reminders and words of parenting wisdom can be found on Instagram at @familyflow.se and for more information about the courses and contact with Ulrika, check out www.familyflow.se

Nora Deli opened just a month or so ago and is already a popular spot! This is not your standard fare - this is a deli with heart and soul. You may know Nora Deli’s owners, Robert and Malin Wåhlén, from Innovativ Catering which is located right next door. Innovative is the perfect word to describe Nora Deli and I think the time is right for this fresh, new deli concept. They have a limited selection of exceptional items - from fresh baked bread to locally pressed apple juice. The place isn’t big and yet they have a lot to offer.
Nora Deli owners Robert and Malin Wåhlén:
Are you in the mood for a delicious breakfast or lunch? Come in, sit down and enjoy your meal that is made to order.
If you’re in a hurry or need a meal to go, try one of the individual take away meals.
Do you need dinner for tonight? You can choose from prepared meat, potatoes, and sauce. Or, you can buy all the fixings to assemble and cook your own pizza at home - fresh crust, mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Or buy a nice flank steak to put on the grill with some fresh asparagus.
I was delighted that I stopped in to the Nora Deli. The food was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly (and busy!). I love knowing there is an artisen deli in my neighborhood where I can pop in to buy a fresh baked loaf of bread, a dozen locally grown eggs or meet a friend for a delightful lunch.
Hours: Monday & Saturday: 10:00 - 15:00 Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 - 18:30
Address: Nora Torg 5, 182 34 Danderyd. Free parking on site

Good to Great restaurant lives up to it’s name! Arleen reviews the restaurant at the Catella Arena tennis hall in Danderyd.
You know the real magnet here is tennis - Catella Arena is in fact a world class tennis facility but the food is worthy of a visit even if you never pick up a tennis racquet. Fresh, quality ingredients are used to create winning combinations that put a new spin on the not-so-ordinary burger and shrimp salad. This could be a new lunch favorite in Danderyd with great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food.

Here are the public celebrations in the area this year:
9pm fire lit on the field at Kolgavägen and fireworks later on. Arranged by Djursholms Ekeby Villaägareförening.
Starts 7.30pm and fire lit at 8pm. Danderyds wind orchestra, singing and speeches. Arranged by Djursholms forntid och framtid.
Cafe opens at 7pm, fire lit at 8.30pm. Singing and spring speechest. Arranged by Danderyds hembygdsförening.

Two things: Valborg is a night that teenagers tend to drink so if you have some, keep an eye on them. Secondly, remember Tuesday is a bank holiday so turn off your alarm clock.
I'm an English gal with a Swedish husband and children living permanently in Danderyd. These are my thoughts on what is going on around here.
