| As a keen creative person, I visited Hammarströms Hantverk AB, an upholsterer recently. Catharina Hammarström works from Stocksunds Tapetserarverkstad just alongside Djursholm Ösby train station. When I entered there were two older men hard at work, these men enthused interest and dedication in what they were doing, busy continuing their daily tasks as I entered. I chose not to interrupt them but instead let them continue as I was fascinated by the work they were doing. One was re-padding a seat whilst the other was stitching detailed piping on the edge of a chair. |  |
It was a very busy workshop or so it seemed, as there were half-finished pieces and pieces ready for customer collection. The room was filled with a hectic yet calming aura.
 | Catharina is a friendly, welcoming person, with as much enthusiasm as the older guys in the workshop. She explained that they are very busy and offer many different services to customers related to refurnishing furniture. Unfortunately - I know we are in Sweden - the craftmanship that goes into refurbishing furniture means the services aren't cheap. Catharina and the men at the Tapetserarverkstad have many fabrics to chose from and will also help you to decide to complement the woodwork of your furniture.
