A bit of Googling tells us that you should have a wetsuit to swim out in open water, which certainly sounds sensible this far north!
Just up the road in Täby, you can buy the Orca brand of wetsuits from Venkanto and their website and webshop works in English: www.venkanto.com .
Enebyberg-based Susanna and Peter Dörlich run Venkanto. They are agents for the New Zealand Orca brand across Scandinavia and the Balkans and, unsurprisingly, love open-water swimming themselves.
Susanna explains:
“Swimming in open water is a little bit of an adventure, which we think many people would like.”
If you have had a go or are a big fan of open-water swimming and want to share some photos with us, please send them over or share them to us on Facebook!
