There are various yoga classes around Danderyd - it is very popular here - including the most obvious Villavi, Purusa and Yoga & Inre Balans at Stocksund and Studio Yoga Blå in Danderyd, to mention just a few. Last week I met Michelle Hart who recently moved over from the UK, bringing her yoga expertise with her and starting two new yoga classes in English at Petruskyrkan. Michelle ia a 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher with 6 years experience of teaching children, adults, as well as pre- and post-natal women. Before moving here, she taught at a variety of gyms, studios and schools in London. While she is here, she continues to train in Yin Yoga and in SUP yoga with Swedish teacher Sofie Ringsten, who teaches at Villavi and Urban Om. You can read more about Michelle on her UK website. Here in Stocksund, on Wednesday mornings, from 9.15-10.30, Michelle teaches Dynamic Hatha Yoga, which she tells me is a flowing, alignment-based practice. Classes are theme based and aim to strengthen and relax body and mind. A friend that attends reported back that this means reasonably challenging position holding and a really good workout, though with plenty of relaxation at the beginning and end. Monday mornings' Yin Yoga class (from 9.15-10.30) is a slower-paced, more meditative class aimed at freeing energy channels and bring the student into the present. It is great for stress relief and helps to improve circulation, flexibility within the joins and connective tissue. Both classes are 140kr to drop-in or Michelle offers special rates for 10 classes and whole terms. Contact Michelle on: 0733 593704 and [email protected] |
